Homemade White Wine Taralli
Our sweet white wine taralli are very simple baked products, quick to prepare and contain the Apulian taste and tradition.
Sweet taralli are products that have been prepared for decades in Puglia and the Gargano, we have been preparing them since 2001 and serve them for breakfast, also excellent at the end of a meal with a good glass of wine, local red or sweet muscat.
Ingrediants:
1 kg of “00” flour
350 grams of sugar
1 and a half glasses of white wine
1 and a half glasses of extra virgin olive oil
1 sachet of baking powder
How do we advise you to prepare them?
Put the flour on a shelf, make a groove in the center where you can put the sugar and yeast and start mixing everything by hand; after a few minutes make another groove in the center of the dough and pour in the white wine and oil.
Knead by hand until the dough is soft and without lumps.
Once the dough is obtained, remove small pieces and roll them out like a thick “rope” like about 1 cm, of variable length (according to your tastes), and at the end join the two ends of this small rope.
Bake in the oven at 180 ° for about 30 minutes until the taralli take on a dark golden color.
Francesca's advice: do not serve hot, let the biscuits rest as soon as they come out of the oven; keep them in a tin container or “frost” type envelopes, remembering that once prepared, they must be consumed within and no later than a couple of weeks.
These taralli can be eaten for breakfast as well as after lunch / dinner accompanied by a good glass of wine, you will not regret it.
